From August 2022 to May 2023, Bella was an intern for the California Reporting Project. This program is supported by the Investigative Reporting program and investigates police use-of-force in California. Lisa Pickoff-White and Phoebe Leila Barghouty were her supervisors and, under their supervision, Bella contributed to reporting that appeared in The Guardian, LAist, Mercury News, and more.
